By serving in this role, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Role of a Temple Monitor

Temple Monitors are volunteers who help maintain awareness of the event environment and support the consent-based culture of Dark Tantra Temple.

Their role is to observe the space, remain available if participants need support, and intervene when situations appear unsafe or unclear.

Temple Monitors are not employees or security personnel. They serve as community safety stewards in exchange for a complimentary event ticket.

Primary Responsibilities

Temple Monitors agree to:

• Maintain awareness of the environment throughout the event
• Support the consent culture of the temple
• Be available if participants request assistance
• Intervene calmly if a situation appears unsafe or non-consensual
• Communicate with event leadership when necessary

Temple Monitors should aim to approach situations with calm communication, respect, and neutrality.

Monitoring Expectations

Temple Monitors agree to remain attentive and present during the event.

To maintain awareness, Temple Monitors agree not to participate in play or intense immersive experiences while serving in this role.

Social interaction with guests is welcome, but the primary responsibility is to remain available to support the safety of the space.

Intervention Approach

When intervention is necessary, Temple Monitors should prioritize de-escalation and clarity.

This may include:

• checking in with participants to ensure consent is clear
• pausing an interaction if boundaries appear unclear
• offering support to someone who appears uncomfortable or overwhelmed

Temple Monitors should never attempt to shame, confront aggressively, or escalate a situation unnecessarily.

If a situation requires additional support, Temple Monitors should contact:

• Sir Pocketz
• event leadership
• venue staff if required

Professional Conduct

Temple Monitors agree to conduct themselves in a responsible and respectful manner during the event.

Temple Monitors agree to:

• remain sober and clear-minded while serving in the role
• communicate respectfully with guests
• maintain confidentiality regarding participants
• act in good faith to support the safety of the environment

Limitations of the Role

Temple Monitors are not responsible for enforcing laws, providing therapy, or resolving every interpersonal conflict.

Their role is to support awareness and communicate concerns to event leadership when necessary.

Volunteer Participation

Temple Monitor positions are limited for each event.

Completion of the Temple Monitor training and agreement does not guarantee placement at a specific event. Participants must still register using the Temple Monitor access code, and positions are filled on a first-come basis.

• You have completed the Temple Monitor Training
• You understand the responsibilities of the role
• You agree not to participate in play while serving as a monitor
• You will support the safety and consent culture of Dark Tantra Temple events
